How far are the properties from the main park facilities?

Self-catering properties Senara, Kerenza and Demelza are conveniently located on site, adjacent to the main park facilities including the shop, swimming pool and restaurant, Morwenna cottage is situated near the entrance to the site, less 200-250m walk to these facilities.

Can I choose a specific pitch?

Yes, you can. Have a look at our website and contact us to reserve it – although of course, it depends on that pitch’s availability. We’ll always try to make sure you get your perfect pitch, or one very like it – please help us out by booking well in advance. If you’ve stayed with us before and want the same pitch, don’t worry if you can’t remember which exact one it was. Simply contact us and we can help, as we have booking records going back several years. If you have a particular request, such as a specific pitch, but without electricity, water or drainage; or you’d like different types of pitches close to each other (you may prefer unserviced grass, while your companions want a hardstanding pitch, for example), again please get in touch, and we’ll try to find you pitches as close to each other as possible.

When can I book for 2026?

Bookings for 2025 will open at 9am on Wednesday the 3rd of July at 9am. You can book online, by phone or in person. We will answer calls as quickly as possible, but the lines do get very busy, and we recommend booking online as the quickest and clearest way to check availability and secure your pitch for peak periods.

Do the properties have private outdoor spaces or views?

Each property has its own outdoor space, ranging from a small patio area, through to a larger garden with hot tub and barbecue area. See individual property descriptions or contact us for more details.

Is there parking available for self-catering guests?

Are the kitchens fully equipped for cooking?

Yes, all kitchens are fully equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, microwave, and essential cookware. Please chat to us if you have specific requirements.

Is linen and bedding provided in the accommodations?

Yes, we provide linen, bedding and towels.

Each property includes a fully equipped kitchens, cosy living areas, modern bathrooms, luxurious Hypnos mattresses, smart TVs, laundry facilities, and free Wi-Fi.

Are the self-catering properties dog-friendly?

Yes, we currently accept up to 2 dogs in each of our 4 self-catering properties. An extra charge per dog applies.

How many people can your properties accommodate?

Our properties can accommodate between 2 and 6 guests, depending on the size and type of accommodation.

The Best Skateparks in Cornwall

Kids have a lot of energy, and skateboarding, cycling and scooting are great ways to burn this off. We’re really pleased to say that here at Polmanter, we’ve changed a rule in the park so that guests are allowed to use their scooters to get around. We know that this will be especially welcome to our younger guests, and we hope they enjoy (safely) riding around the site on two or three wheels.

But what about the skateboarders?

We don’t really have the terrain for riders; however, a fantastic new skatepark has just opened up down the road in St Ives, and there are plenty of other skateparks in Cornwall.

We’ve made a list of some of our favourite skateparks in Cornwall (plus a fantastic place for bikes). Here’s a guide to the closest skateparks to St Ives, as well as a few that are definitely worth the journey.

St Ives Skatepark

We’re so lucky to have had a fabulous new skatepark open close to Polmanter. Earlier this year, following a lot of hard work from local groups, St Ives skatepark opened its ramps.

It’s in a pleasant park on the Polmanter side of St Ives, and features skatelite ramps on a concrete base. The back-and-forth course isn’t too challenging so suits a range of skills. And it’s so close!

Penzance: Two Skateparks

Coombe Road Skatepark TR18 3HU

Wherrytown Skatepark TR18 4NP

Nearby Penzance is lucky enough to have two skateparks. Coombe Road is loved for its bowl section, while Wherrytown is better for varied street style skating.

Both are close to playgrounds should you need to entertain younger siblings. Location-wise, Wherrytown has the edge, as it’s right on Penzance prom.

Hayle Skatepark

Hayle skatepark is just a short drive from St Ives, if you fancy a change of scene. It’s in the Rec, Hayle recreation ground, so again there’s a good playground for younger sibs.

The concrete skatepark consists of two bowls, with plenty to challenge riders of all abilities. Luckily, there’s a takeaway for waiting parents, and free parking nearby.

Newquay Concrete Waves Skatepark

TR7 2LZ

This large skatepark shares a car park with Newquay Zoo, so you can make a real day of it. Concrete Waves is a fantastic skatepark, built by Maverick in 2018.

There are four separate areas: a retro-style pool, a street run, a stair set and an impressive bowl. There’s something here for all levels of experience.

Mount Hawke Skatepark

Mount Hawke is an awesome skatepark – not least because of its massive indoor section. It’s a bit more of a drive from St Ives than the other options, but it’s definitely worth it on a wet day.

It’s split into several different sections, and there’s also a new outdoor plaza. It’s suitable for all skill levels; and if you have a rider in your party, Mount Hawke is a must-visit attraction. Visit the Mount Hawke website to book your slot.

The Track in Portreath

But what if you’ve brought a bike enthusiast rather than a skateboarder to Cornwall? Book in at The Track in Portreath. It’s near Redruth, so is a fairly quick drive up the A30 from St Ives.

There are miles of trails and plenty of jumps, and the staff here are great at boosting confidence and helping develop new skills. Find out more at The Track’s website.
